I love the look on parents’ faces when they see what their children are about to bring home and display proudly.
This particular idea was inspired by an Art Attack project, the children really liked the idea of gargoyle faces as bedroom door-knockers. As you can see from the photos, the base is made of scrap cardboard and the 3D facial features were made from paper maché pulp mixed with PVA glue. Two small stones taped in place give the ‘knock-knock’ effect. A couple coats of paint (we used acrylic) and string to tie the knocker in position along with a hanging loop, and there you have it ready to take pride of place on the bedroom door.
