The Art Cabin kids loved making these sketchbooks, and they are very easy to do. Different types of paper cut to the same size was notched top and bottom 2.5cms from one edge. A rubber band was hooked around the notches to hold the pages together. The front and back covers were made from card and also notched 2.5cms from the edge. The young artists used old letraset (letter transfers we found in the attic harking back from the days when my husband went to Barnet college, many moons ago)….. and polymer clay to decorate their book covers.
Since we had made paper some time ago (some of it made from denim fabric and some from egg boxes) the children cut it to size and used it for pages in their books.
