Our latest art project which will be revealed to you in the new year (it’s work in progress at the moment), takes inspiration from Maori art. The Art Cabin has taken this one step further by using a basic shape from Maori art called Koru to create our Christmas tree collage (I know it’s something you wouldn’t normally put together, but it works beautifully).
The children have also been making simple but beautiful Christmas cards. Using scissors with the fancy cutting blades, colourful paper was cut into strips and glued onto backing card. The children could then decide to cut either a present or Christmas tree shape out of the card. Glitter, bows and sequins were added for the final festive touches.
So, may I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
