I am a practising artist and art educator/artist in residence based in a primary school in Hertfordshire, UK.
I studied fashion/textile design and have worked in both the fashion industry and the graphic design industry. I am interested in all aspects of art, design and craft. I currently share my time between creating and exhibiting my own art under the name of Quiet British Accent, running after-school art clubs & creating workshops for the primary school children where I am based.
I had the idea of the Art Cabin back in February 2009. The primary school that my children use to attend had some building work completed, which left the teachers’ staff room – which was based in a portacabin at the back of the school, redundant. I proposed that an art area should be created and set about project managing it.
During the summer of 2013 the Art Cabin moved permanently into the school as the old site was removed to make way for a new classroom.
I am a qualified Arts Award advisor for Discover and Explore levels. I have an up to date DSB check and PPL insurance.
