Recently I was invited to help out on a school day trip to the Henry Moore Foundation in Perry Green, Hertfordshire.
WOW! The sculptures in the well kept grounds are breath-taking. There are many that the children can touch the only rule being that you don’t tread on the plinths that they are erected on.
The children have space to move around the sculptures and sketch what they see.
Indoors, the rules are more rigid as you would expect from any museum housing priceless works of art. Despite this, the children I accompanied still marvelled at the sculptures on display, discussing what they liked and what they were less fond of.
Interesting stuff, I certainly will go back again for inspiration.
